The Peerless Faucet Company is one of the leading divisions of Delta Faucet, the largest U.S. Producer of faucets for both residential and commercial. Peerless faucets are known for their quality craftsmanship and visual appeal when it comes to bathroom, kitchen, and bar or laundry sinks.
Peerless Kitchen Faucets
A Peerless kitchen faucet is not only a model of top quality U.S. Production, it is also a thing of beauty and function combined into a single unit. Peerless kitchen faucets come in three basic styles, pull out faucets, double handle faucets, and single handle faucets.
Single Handle Faucets
Single handle kitchen faucets tend to be the most common style used in the average kitchen. They consist of a single spout that typically extends horizontally over the kitchen sink, but with a defined upward angle to allow for maximum operating space and clearance area to accommodate larger pots and pans. The temperature of the water is controlled by a single handle that is moved left or right until the desired temperature has been achieved. The base of the single handled kitchen faucet is generally wide in order to allow for installation in sinks that may have been punched for a double handled style of faucet.
Double Handle Faucets
Double handle faucets tend to have the same basic spout design as their single handled counterparts. The primary difference between the two lies in the water temperature controls. Instead of having a single control, double handle faucets have two separate controls, one each for the hot and cold water. As each knob is turned, it increases or decreases the flow of either the hot or cold water, combining the two flows into the spout until the desired temperature is reached.
Pull Down Faucets
One of the more unique types of kitchen faucets is the pull down design. While these may appear to be standard single and double handle sinks on first glance, their functional ability is somewhat enhanced. Taking their cue from sprayer sinks often found in larger commercial kitchens, pull down faucets allow the used to take the end of the water spout and extend it via a tube within the spout. This not only allows the sink spout to be used in a more flexible manner. This is not only perfect for cleaning larger pots and pans, it can also come in handy for tasks requiring water flow in the immediate area around the sink.
Peerless Bathroom Faucets
A Peerless bathroom faucet also comes in three different varieties, each with their own specific function. They include lavatory faucets, tub and shower faucets and roman tub faucets. The various types of bathroom faucets offered are geared towards a variety of bathrooms with unique functional capacities and components.
Lavatory Faucets
Lavatory faucets are designed specifically for use with bathroom sinks. Like the line of kitchen faucets produced by Peerless, they come in either single or double handle designs. Some lavatory faucets come packaged in sets, designed for master bathrooms with multiple sinks. They may also have coordinating tub and shower faucets, for standard bathrooms, or can simply be a stand alone product, as would be needed for a guest bathroom with no bathing facility.
Tub And Shower Faucets
Tub and shower faucets consist of several components. In a traditional tub and shower combination, the faucets components would include a bathtub spout with either a single or double handle faucet control and a separate shower head. There is typically a directional controller built into the tub spout that can divert the water flow back and forth between the tub spout and the shower head. For stand alone shower units, the tub spout would be omitted and the water controls would be mounted higher up near the shower head for easier access.
Roman Tubs
Older bathrooms may not have always taken advantage of built in showers and often relied on standalone bathtubs to satisfy any bathing needs. These vintage or vintage inspired bathtubs are commonly referred to as claw foot tubs or Roman tubs. For these designs, more specifically tubs without attached shower heads, the faucet is mounted on the tub itself and resembles a lavatory faucet in appearance and operation.
Peerless Bar & Laundry Faucets
The third category for Peerless faucets includes fixtures designed for bar sinks or laundry sinks. While appearance is important for these types of faucets, the general emphasis is typically placed on functionality and durability. These faucets come in a range of styles, shapes, and sizes, ideal for small bar sinks as well as large laundry sinks. They can also incorporate any of the designs listed in both the bathroom faucet category as well as the kitchen faucet collections. The key characteristic is the inclusion of high set water spouts for increased work space below.
